One of the 28 National Estuary Programs across the U.S., the Narragansett Bay Estuary Program is dedicated to protecting and restoring the resources of Narragansett Bay and its watershed in R.I. and Mass. Based at the URI Coastal Institute, the NBEP conducts habitat restoration, water quality, local capacity building, technical assistance, communications, and ecosystem management/planning initiatives through a stakeholder-based,science-oriented inclusive approach.
