Manages fish and wildlife resources for their long-term well-being and the benefit of people.
Based on a network of agencies implementing 23 statutes that protect and enhance the state’s natural, cultural and economic coastal resources. The goal of the program is to coordinate local, state and federal agency activities using existing laws to ensure that Florida’s coast is as valuable to future generations as it is today.
Encompasses 2800 square nautical miles of the waters surrounding the Florida Keys with the goal of balancing the long-term health of the ecosystem with the economy it supports.
