Clean Virginia Waterways mission is to enhance the health of Virginia’s water resources through pollution prevention, education and stewardship activities. CVW, founded in 1995, is a statewide, nonprofit, incorporated organization that is affiliated with Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia as well as Ocean Conservancy. Clean Virginia Waterways is a leader in prevention of marine debris. CVW organizes the annual International Coastal Cleanup in Virginia throughout the state.

CVW also offers workshops for teachers, farmers, businesses and homeowners on water conservation, rain harvesting, resource protection, water quality monitoring, and waste/litter prevention.
