"Based in Senegal, Green was founded in 1999 by Vore Gana Seck to promote environmental protection and sustainable livelihood. In 2009, a blue agenda was added to Green's portfolio in order to deal with marime ecology, sustainable fisheries, beach sanitation, saline soil rehabilitation.
Working with the Netherlands, IUCN, and the Consortium of NGOs of Senegal, Green developped a new program on ecological watch and fisheries management in eight zones.
In 2011, with the Adaptation Fund, Green launched the network of coastal actors and trained thousands of people in adaptation and mitigation to coastal erosion caused by climate change. The project received the Momentum for Change Award at COP 18 in Doha. "
