The mission of the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is to preserve and enhance the nonrenewable natural resources of the state, consisting of land, water, oil, gas, and other minerals, through conservation, regulation, and management/exploitation. The Office of Coastal Restoration and Management is responsible for the maintenance and protection of the state’s coastal wetlands.
