The Surfrider Foundation is an environmental non-profit dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches through conservation, activism, research and education (C.A.R.E.). Founded in 1984 by a group of visionary surfers in Malibu, CA, the Surfrider Foundation now has more than 50,000 members and 70 chapters around the world. Surfrider has four chapters in Hawaii on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and in Kona, and we host monthly beach cleanups and chapter meetings. Our members seek to preserve water quality and beach access and promote responsible coastal development and a reduction in single-use plastics and marine debris.
