Believes that effective management approaches will recognize and maintain fundamental relationships amongst components of an ecoysystem and be responsive to local economic needs. To address the challenges of incorporating local values into ecosystem management, the Initiative convened a discussion group representing a range of federal and non-federal perspectives.
