Works to improve the management of the state’s coastal natural resource areas (CNRAs) and to ensure the long-term ecological and economic productivity of the coast. The Coastal Coordination Council was established as a forum for coordinating state, federal, and local programs and activities of the Texas coast. The Council is charged with adopting uniform goals and policies to guide decision-making by all entities regulating or managing natural resource use on the coast. The Council also oversees the CMP grants program and passes over 90 percent of those funds for use in coastal communities.
